Fouzia Ali

 

Fouzia has over 20 years’ experience in developing, fund-raising for and running community projects. She has workedfouzia ali with Roshni for the last 13 years as co-ordinator for the Women’s Empowerment Services. In recent years, her interest in holistic health and herbal medicine led her to train as an Ayurvedic practitioner. Her passion is to make knowledge of holistic health and traditional nutrition easily available to everyone, even to those who are unable to afford private nutritional counselling, by running educational programmes for the community. Fouzia is currently co-managing the Roshni Kitchen, with a vision to create a hub for sharing delicious foods created by talented South Asian women volunteers, alongside health giving Ayurvedic dishes to bring balance. Fouzia has a BSc in psychology, Level 4 diploma in Counselling and is registered member of  Association of Ayurvedic Professional UK (AAPUK).

 

Naheed Haneef 

naheedFor the last few decades, Naheed has been a full-time mother, who expressed her creativity and flair through cooking for her family. She grew up in a home where food was always exceptional, as her father owned a restaurant and her mother was a brilliant cook. When two of her brothers trained as chefs, expectation were always high from her cooking during family gatherings. Naheed learned to set high standards for herself in cooking. For a number of years, she has been catering for Roshni and another community organisations for small events. When Roshni advertised for a chef for Roshni Kitchen, this opportunity came at the right time as her children are grown up and she has more time to take on a new venture. We are delighted to welcome her in our new team.

 

Ghazala Razzaq

Ghazala joined Roshni in 2001 as the Centre Coordinator, where she was able to develop her passion for supporting  communities, and specifically vulnerable South Asian women in the city of Sheffield. Ghazala has expertise in designing and delivering projects and programmes that engage and support women.  She gets results by having good analytical and people skills. Her family background is in Food businesses, which was helpful when she started the Roshni Kitchen as a social enterprise. She is committed to ensure that Roshni Kitchen operates as a quality and ethical business, reducing its carbon footprint as far as possible; and ensuring that Roshni Kitchen is faithful to its mission to train and empower women, as well as providing delicious food which is also good for you.  She holds an honours degree in Public Administration.
